2021:What a Year Part 2

December 30, 2021

Was it 2021, or 2020 the sequel?

What to say about 2021, then we are all in this together and we all need to do a lot better!

It was a year of ups & downs, a year where we felt that the pandemic was close to over, a year where we started to relax, make plans and got dealt with Delta and Omicron, just to remind us who is in charge here. In many ways 2021, felt like a sequel to 2020 and we all know by now, sequels as an unwritten rule, are always much worse than the original movie.

For us in the P World, it was marked with coming back to the office from remote working, moving to a new office in the fall, and trying to plan ahead against a pandemic that no one can control and no one can predict.

In 2021 we organized 29 virtual events, and we finally managed to organize 5 hybrid/live events in Skopje, Lisbon, Belgrade, Geneva & Austin. Just in case you were wondering, HYBRID is a code word for working twice as hard, for the same result.

We kicked off 2021 successfully in January with a virtual edition of the Strategic Workforce Planning Cetification, followed by the Healthcare Communication Bootcamp and the Content PR Boot Webinar. In February we followed up with the Nonprofit Communications Boot Camp and the 4th edition of our extremely popular PR Measurement Boot Camp.

March proved to be one of our busiest virtual events months with the People Analytics for HR Certification Course, the Virtual HR Excellence Summit Europe, the PR Agency Boot Camp, the Government Communications Boot Camp and our brand-new series of events, the Virtual CX Excellence Summit North America. In April & May we followed with the 13th virtual edition of the Crisis Communications Boot Camp, a new edition of the Strategic Workforce Planning Certification, the Virtual Nordic HR Excellence Summit, the Virtual HR Excellence Summit North America and the second edition of the Virtual CX Excellence Summit Europe.

Proving that no one was yet planning to go on holiday in June, we closed the gap in the market and organized the Practical Crisis Communications Training Course with Amanda Coleman, the 4th edition of the Global PR New York Summit, the third edition of the Strategic Workforce Planning Certification and the Crisis Communications for Higher Educations Institutions Boot Camp.

After a long, relaxing summer we opened up the event season in August with the fourth edition of the Strategic Workforce Planning Certification, followed by our first live/hybrid event since March 2021, the Global HR Trends Summit Skopje 3 in September, where we remembered how exhilarating it is to have people attend live events & the joys of live networking, while following all the local covid rules.

In October, the month before Omicron and our busiest month of the year, we managed to organize 4 more live events starting with the 6th edition of the Global HR Trends Summit in Belgrade, the live edition of the Strategic Workforce Planning Certification in Geneva, the second edition of the Global HR Trends Summit in Lisbon and the 14th edition of the Crisis Communications Boot Camp in Austin, Texas. The same month we also organized 4 virtual events starting with the second edition of the People Analytics for HR Certification, the 5th edition of the PR Measurement Boot Camp, the 3rd edition of the Virtual Education Communicators Boot Camp and the fifth edition of the Strategic Workforce Planning Certification.

In November and December, with the blessing of Omicron, we organized only virtual events, starting in November with the Healthcare Communications Boot Camp 2, the 6th edition of the Global PR Summit Canada and the first edition of the Virtual Strategic Talent Acquisition Certification. In December we closed the year with the 15th edition of the Crisis Communications Boot Camp and the 4th edition of the Virtual CX Excellence Summit.

What 2021 has thought us as, yet again, is that we have to be prepared to adapt to changes, rules and restrictions, as fast as possible. And not to take anything for granted!

In these difficult times, we want to thank our delegates for supporting us at our events live and virtual, and for their endless patience when technology fails us. To our global industry partners for adapting and supporting us in these challenging times. To our speakers and workshops leaders, thank you for being you and thank you for giving all your energy and passion into our virtual events, adapting topics to the current situation and traveling during difficult & often confusing covid regulations to our live events.

With event locations changing from live to virtual because of newly imposed restrictions, and months of meticulous planning going down the drain, what 2021 thought us most was that even when everything falls apart in a spectacular way, we will always find our way back and the strength to carry on.

We hope that in 2022 we will have more chances to learn & network in excellent health!

Everyone, Please Stay Safe & Healthy!

With Love, The P World
